SPLM-IO Uganda Chapter
Introduction
The SPLM-IO Uganda Chapter represents the largest South Sudanese community outside South Sudan. With over one million South Sudanese living in Uganda, both in urban areas and refugee settlements, Uganda has become a vital center for diaspora advocacy, community support, and political engagement.
Community Presence
Major refugee settlements: Bidibidi, Rhino, Palabek, Bweyale.
Urban communities: Kampala, Arua, Gulu.
Active student and youth groups in Kampala universities.
Our Focus in Uganda
Supporting South Sudanese refugees with advocacy and protection.
Promoting SPLM-IO’s vision of peace, democracy, and federalism.
Strengthening ties between diaspora leaders and community members.
Engaging with Ugandan civil society and regional partners.
